Having trouble getting your baby to go to sleep at night sometimes can be frustrating. But setting a night time routine for your baby will help tremendously. Your baby will eventually figure out that these things mean it’s time to go to sleep. This can be relaxing for the parent and the baby. Sticking to this routine will also make it easier if you’re staying away from home as long as you still stick to the routine. Here are some ideas to maybe include in your night time routine.
1. Take a warm bath with lavender baby soap
Lavender is known to be calming and combined with a warm bath will help to calm your baby and help them fall asleep.
2. Cuddle and talk to your baby
Having some one-on-one time with you before going to bed and listening to your heartbeat will help to soothe your baby.
3. Feed your baby rice cereal with fruit puree followed by a bottle (If old enough)
This will help your baby stay full and fall asleep. But doing this before a bath would probably be a better option seeing as babies tend to be messy.
4. Play white noise
Relaxing sounds help tremendously and prevents the baby from waking up from any other noises in the home.
5. Turn off all lights
Keeping the room dark will help the baby realize that it’s time to close their eyes and fall asleep.
I hope some of these tips were helpful. Whether you prefer a bath or just cuddling with your baby before bed. As long as you stick to the routine, your baby will eventually get used to the routine.
